In order to design the furniture of the spaces we renovated for Gruppo Cimbali, we had to study deeply the different functional destinations and the single peculiarities of the various milieus spread over the two floors of two independent buildings.
The reception with the visitor registration area and the bar counter, the displays of La Cimbali and Faema showrooms, the technical rooms, the meeting room housing 30 people, the extraordinary Lounge Bar counter have been designed as environments with “different identities”, as the differences of the materials used for each of them. Melamine panels with tissue decoration, top in agglomerated quartz slab, rolled steel coatings, displays in solid wood slats and low-thickness ceramic stoneware.
The front side of the counter is made of three thousand copper strips of two tenths of a millimetre becoming “incandescent” thanks to the backlight, whose red-orange colour is in contrast, with the steel graphicity and the white walls, in a suggestive way.
The copper strips emitting heat, just as a coffee machine, are a tribute to the origins of the concern, born in 1912, when Mr. Giuseppe Cimbali opened a copper-processing shop in the centre of Milan.
